Terry Marshall Campie – Business

 


Terry M. Campie is a 1986 graduate of the University of Iowa MBA graduate program, a terminal degree. His professional career demonstrates the versatility of that program. He was able to leverage that education to owning 5 cemeteries and selling to a company on the NYSE. He also taught business classes fulltime and part time at over 8 USA colleges and universities. Exercising it further he built a home-based business designing and manufacturing custom boat covers. Then he developed and build 4 homes in Camanche before accepting a call from the Lord to minister in the US Virgin Islands. Upon return, he briefly returning to teaching at the college level before acquiring and consolidating 3 detergent manufacturing and distribution companies. This new company was later sought for acquisition by the largest similar company in the world, Ecolab.

Much of his teaching experience has focused on business and other business courses, including accounting. Terry campie left school to apply the principles he taught and to care for his family.   1.         ·          His professional career initially began in 1986 as an Electrical Engineering Technician for Iowan Illinois Gas and Electric where he created, maintained,   and modified large electrical distribution computer models on mainframe computers. ·             From there, his system electrical experience was transferred to Maquoketa Municipal Electric Utility (MMEU) as their first Chief Executive Officer.   He served on the Iowa Municipal Utility Board and volunteered in the community. ·          MMEU was the 10 th largest Municipal Electric Utility on Iowa and provided service to the City of Maquoketa but also generated its own electricity with diesel generators.   He was responsible for the energy savings programs for the community.
